The University provides a number of productivity software packages to assist in day to day operations.

Service Offerings

Document Collaboration

The University provides students, staff and faculty with services that enable secure creation, storage and sharing of files using Google Drive. Google Drive enables you to create and share word processing documents, spreadsheets and presentations online, and collaborate with others on group projects.

Document Management

This service enables departments and business units at the University to capture documents in their native formats by scanning or importing. Once captured, documents can be securely shared with coworkers and routed to the right people at the right time through workflow processes.

Google

Through a partnership with Google, U of M students, faculty, and staff can access a suite of Google-powered tools designed to enhance our ability to work together.

Google Tasks

Google Tasks is an easy way to keep track of what you need to do and is available in Google Mail, your phone, and Google Calendar.

Microsoft Office 365

Microsoft Office 365 is available for free for all current University of Minnesota students, faculty, and staff.

Current versions of Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Access on up to five devices
Support for Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, and Android phones (Android tablets are not supported)

We have self-service instructions to download and install Office 365 on your computer. You can also bring your computer to the Helpdesk and for assistance with installation.

Open Office

OpenOffice if compatible with other major office suites and is free to download.
