Through a partnership with Google, University of Minnesota students, faculty, and staff can access a suite of Google-powered communication and collaboration tools designed to enhance our ability to work together. The suite includes email, calendar, document sharing, instant messaging, and Web site publishing tools.

Blog publishing tool from Google

Gmail

Keep your University of Minnesota email address, but use Google’s advanced email interface – without ads. Comes with a powerful spam filter.

Google Calendar

Organize your life—schedule your social and academic life, create personal calendars, share calendars with others, and invite friends to events.

Google Drive

Allows access to your online storage from anywhere. Work in real time, as you can create and share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations online, and collaborate with others on group projects. Assign them comments and receive comment notifications. The powerful search tools allow you to filter your Drive content.

Google Forms

Google forms offer a basic platform for creating and distributing a form, short survey, or a poll. Results can be displayed in a Google Spreadsheet. It is possible to collaborate and share survey.

Google Groups

Google Groups is all about helping users connect with people, access information, and communicate effectively over email and on the web. With members of your team all in the same group, Google Groups makes it easy for sharing things like Google Calendars and Docs with one another.

Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts is an easy way to set communicate with another person or group of people within the University or another Google Account by messaging, phone, or video.

The University's Google search appliance is a powerful cluster of computers that allow everyone to quickly find specific information on University Web pages, and it is based on the same search technology as the google.com Web search.

Google Tasks is an easy way to keep track of what you need to do and is available in Google Mail, your phone, and Google Calendar.
